A rare and beautifully matched trio of Wedgwood lustre porcelain bud vases, designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones around 1915. These pieces belong to the early "Ordinary Lustre" series, the direct precursor to her famous Fairyland Lustre line. The vases feature hand-painted golden dragons set against shimmering green and blue lustre glazes with marbled and mottled effects. Each vase is finished with a mother-of-pearl lustre interior and gilt rim, characteristic of Makeig-Jones' elegant early work.
All three vases are marked "Wedgwood England" with the Portland vase stamp and hand-numbered Z4831 (one mark partially worn). This pattern is among the first ten lustre series introduced by Wedgwood in 1914 and is now exceptionally scarce. Surviving sets in such fine condition are particularly rare, making this a true collector's find.
These early 20th-century art pottery pieces are ideal for display and a strong investment for collectors of British studio ceramics and decorative porcelain.
