An antique pair of Sitzendorf potpourri porcelain vases from Dresden, created in the late 19th century. Each vase is hand-painted with intricate floral patterns and finely detailed with applied floral decorations. The delicate flowers are hand-modeled and painted in pastel tones, adding both texture and visual appeal.
The lid of each vase is crowned with an elaborate floral finial, and the lids feature small holes, indicating that the vases were designed as potpourri holders.
The bases of each vase bear the Sitzendorf blue cross-hatch mark, confirming their authenticity and origin.
It is worth noting that such floral designs on porcelain surfaces are a distinctive feature of Dresden porcelain. While other factories may produce similar motifs, it is in Dresden where this art form reached its peak of perfection.
