A large and visually striking pair of Royal Dux porcelain figures depicting a fisherman and a fisherwoman, produced in Bohemia around 1918. The figures are strongly modelled and carefully balanced as a pair, with a confident sculptural presence typical of Royal Dux's higher-grade figural production.
The decoration is executed in softly graduated polychrome enamels, creating a calm and sculptural overall appearance. The surfaces are enriched with dead-matte gilding, applied selectively to basket rims and accessories. A very subtle dusting of gold, visible only under strong magnification, adds gentle depth and a refined shimmer to the garments without overt brilliance. This labour-intensive finish was reserved for Royal Dux models produced above the standard commercial level.
The bases bear impressed model numbers 1819 and 1820, confirming the intended pairing. The female figure retains a clear pink triangular factory mark with the letters DPM (Duxer Porzellan-Manufaktur), while the same mark on the male figure is present but worn. Both bases also show an impressed "F" within a circle, probably referring to the initials of the sculptor or modeler associated with this design.

Female figure: height 37 cm; width 22 cm; depth 13 cm; weight 1524 g.
Condition:
Excellent original condition. No restoration, repainting, or cracks. Colours remain fresh and well preserved. Very minor wear to the gilding is limited to the basket rims. Fine sculptural details, including the delicate tips of the fisherman's beard, are fully intact. UV examination confirms originality.
