A rare Imperial Russian porcelain plate produced at the Dulevo Factory of the M.S. Kuznetsov Association c.1889 as part of a replenishment order for the celebrated Romanov Blue Wedding Service. The original service was created by the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg in 1884 to commemorate the marriage of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich and Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna.
The plate features a scalloped gilt-edged rim, a deep cobalt-blue border and the crowned conjoined cipher SE executed in overglaze gilding. Its decoration faithfully reproduces that of the original Imperial Porcelain Factory service.
The reverse bears the gilt Kuznetsov Dulevo Factory mark beneath the Russian Imperial double-headed eagle together with an impressed size number 2.
A rare surviving element of one of the most celebrated Romanov ceremonial services of the late Imperial period.
Dimensions: Diameter 24.5 cm, height 3 cm, weight 507 g.
Condition: Wear to the gilding along the rim and minor wear to the cobalt border consistent with age. Otherwise very good antique condition.
