A beautifully preserved pair of Wedgwood blue lustre bowls by Daisy Makeig-Jones, pattern Z4564, circa 1915. The powder-blue iridescent ground is finished with hand-gilded owls on leafy branches and a continuous gilt border. One bowl bears a special retail order mark for James Powell & Sons (Whitefriars Glass Works) — a prominent London retailer of Wedgwood who offered such pieces alongside their own glass and stained-glass wares, adding their mark after production. Dual-marked examples are rare and highly collectible. Ideal as elegant nut or candy dishes at tea, or as chic ring dishes on a dressing table.
Size (each): 15.2 cm × 4 cm
Condition: Excellent antique condition with bright lustre and gilding. Reflections in photos result from the lustre glaze.
