This rare early Lladró figure was produced in the first Almàssera workshop around 1957, during the short-lived polychrome phase that predates the modern brand. Entirely hand-modelled and hand-painted, it represents the earliest, most collectible period of Lladró's studio production. The scene shows a young man seated at the Fountain of Truth, painted in a warm Spanish palette rarely seen in later works. The separately sculpted and painted jug—a technically complex feature—identifies this as one of the premium early models made in very small numbers.

Pieces from this first decade are regarded as the foundation of Lladró's artistic identity and are rarely found outside Spain. They make exceptional centrepieces for serious collectors of early Lladró.
