A decorative pair of English porcelain cabinet plates by Minton, produced around the turn of the 20th century. These plates reflect the enduring popularity of Oriental-inspired decoration within English porcelain of the late Victorian and early Edwardian period.
The decoration is built around a bold "Red Vase" motif, surrounded by precious objects and floral elements. The composition draws on Chinese export porcelain of the 18th and 19th centuries, translated into a distinctly European decorative language. The pink diaper border and controlled palette are typical of Minton's refined cabinet wares of this period.
Such plates were conceived for decorative display rather than table use. The reverse shows factory numbers and differing decorator's or control marks on each plate, consistent with established Minton workshop practice.

Good antique condition. There is wear to the gilding and painted decoration consistent with age and use. No cracks or restorations observed.
