Dainty Hand-Painted Arita Porcelain Plate - Meiji Period, 1860-1880
A delicate hand-painted porcelain plate, crafted from fine white Arita ware. The underside bears hieroglyphic markings indicating the Hichozan Shinpo-sei trademark, a mark used by Tashiro Monzaemon (?-1900) during the Meiji period (1860-1880).
Arita ware, also known as Hizen ware, refers to Japanese porcelain produced in the region around Arita, Hizen Province, on northwestern Kyūshū island. This area was the heart of early Japanese porcelain production, particularly for export.

Gilding and paint are in excellent condition, with a small chip along the edge of the plate.
