French porcelain covered trembleuse chocolate cup and saucer from the Manufacture de la Reine, Paris, dating to the late 18th century, circa 1780-1800. Founded by André Leboeuf in 1776, the factory received the official protection of Queen Marie-Antoinette in 1778, when it adopted the red crowned A mark and was permitted to bear the name Manufacture à la Reine; these are precisely the marks seen on the cup and saucer.
The set is of refined covered trembleuse form, with a deep saucer designed to hold the cup securely in place during service, a practical and costly feature particularly suited to hot chocolate. The cup has a gently tapering body, an elegant loop handle, and a domed cover surmounted by a moulded berry finial with a green leaf.
The decoration combines pink and lilac ribbon trellis panels, blue floral sprigs, and gilt borders on a white ground. The saucer is decorated with a geometric ribbon pattern, adding a more structured neoclassical note and balancing the lighter floral design of the cup.
A highly desirable example of late 18th-century Paris porcelain, appealing for its royal factory mark, refined chocolate cup form, and elegant Louis XVI decoration.

Cup with cover: weight 307 g, height 13 cm, width 13 cm, depth 10 cm.
Saucer: weight 223 g, height 4 cm, diameter 15.6 cm.
Condition:
Wear to the gilding inside the cup, apparently from a former gilt band around the inner rim. Small loss to part of the leaf on the cover. The saucer has an old restoration to a broken section: it was first repaired with metal staples in period and later secured with glue. The painted decoration and gilding remain very well preserved.
