A fine late Yuan dynasty (14th century) Longquan celadon dish of large size, made in Zhejiang province, China. The dense stoneware body is covered with a luminous bluish-green celadon glaze, softly pooling at the cavetto and highlighting a molded floral scroll surrounding a trellis-centre with radiating petals. The unglazed footring, burnt to a warm orange, and tiny pinholes to the glazed base confirm classic Longquan traits of the period.
