A stunningly reproduced in fine detail multi-figure group depicting an older woman telling a family their fortunes while they eagerly hang on every word.
This piece was made by Vion Et Baury in Choisy-le-Roi, France, circa 1880's, and is marked with a green anchor.
Jean Guillet established a porcelain factory on the Rue Paradis-Poissonnière in France around 1845. He mainly produced bisque figurines, which were of very high quality. The factory's chief modeller was Charles Baury, who later ran the factory with Desiree Vion and it became known as Vion and Baury, and in 1875 production was moved to Choisy-le-Roi. Both factories won several medals at world exhibitions.

Excellent antique condition, colouring and enamel are fully intact. Chip to cards in fortune tellers right hand; restoration to index finger on her left hand; restoration to back of chair; owl that is under the table has been re-attached; small chip to rim of gentleman's hat.
