A finely modelled German porcelain figural posy holder depicting a young boy pushing a wheelbarrow, the cart formed with four separate bulb-shaped receptacles designed to hold small floral stems. The porcelain displays a soft ivory-cream tone with a gentle natural warmth. The modelling is delicate and well balanced, the figure leaning slightly forward in motion on a naturalistic base. The four vase openings rise organically from the cart and are enriched with applied floral ornament. The surface is decorated in soft pastel enamels with scattered floral sprigs and subtle pink toning, characteristic of Silesian production of the period.
The base bears an underglaze blue KPM mark belonging to Krister Porzellan-Manufaktur in Waldenburg, Silesia. Krister aligned its marking system with the prestige of the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (KPM) in Berlin, explaining the visual similarity. By the 1850s, the factory had become one of Europe's leading porcelain manufacturers and received awards at the Paris International Expositions of 1852 and 1867. Today, the KPM initials remain closely linked with high-quality German porcelain.
