A well-kept pair by Kister Porzellan-Manufaktur (Scheibe-Alsbach, Thuringia), circa 1887. Two young figures in 18th-century dress pull shell-form carts on large decorative wheels. Fronts with a lion mask below a rocaille leaf ornament; sides with rocaille scrolls; interiors plain white. Oval bases show soft sponged earth tones typical of late-19th-century Thuringian work. Soft Dresden-style pastel palette with raised "pearl" gilding highlighting outlines and costume details - a technique closely associated with Kister. Faces are neatly painted with natural expressions. Underglaze blue "KPM" (Kister, Scheibe-Alsbach), used since1887. Impressed model no. 1445-9; vent hole present. In 1877 Professor Reinhard Möller took charge of the artistic department. From the 1890s Kister developed pairs and centerpieces — female dancers, dancing couples and historical figures — including lace figures after early Meissen prototypes. The period range includes comparable groups with carts, sledges and children with barrows in the same pastel palette and raised "pearl" gilding. The figurines remain highly collectible due to their elegant composition and association with the esteemed Scheibe-Alsbach manufactory. Survival as a matching pair in such condition adds rarity and appeal.

Female: small loss to one wheel hub; otherwise excellent, colors and gilding intact.
Male: excellent, full preservation of decoration.
