A superb octagonal Wedgwood Lustre bowl in the Z4832 pattern, designed by the celebrated Daisy Makeig-Jones around 1915. The exterior features a soft Mother-of-Pearl Lustre with pale stainings and mottling, each panel decorated with a finely gilded butterfly. Inside, the vivid Orange Lustre with crimson mottling is bordered by gilt butterflies and centred with an ornate medallion, all hand-painted in gold. Measuring 5 cm high by 9 cm wide, this piece embodies the whimsical elegance that brought Makeig-Jones international acclaim at exhibitions throughout the 1920s. A perfect collectible or unique gift for lovers of fine English pottery.
