An outstanding Wedgwood Lustre bowl in the rare Z4831 slightly worn pattern, created by the visionary Daisy Makeig-Jones around 1915. The exterior glows with green lustre layered over multicolored stainings, giving rise to a subtle violet iridescence. Gilded oriental-style animals— circle the bowl in fine detail. Inside, the center is dominated by an extraordinary coiling dragon with a human face, encircled by stylized blue clouds. Daisy Makeig-Jones revitalised Wedgwood's fortunes, yet her work was never just about surface beauty. Each of her designs wove a narrative, creating hidden worlds infused with fantasy, rich jewel-like colors and extraordinary detail. This bowl, measuring 5.3 cm high and 10 cm wide, embodies that storytelling tradition, making it a superb choice for collectors seeking rarity and artistic depth.
