Wonderful antique porcelain figurine of a mythical muse strumming her lyre; through observing her dreamy expression, we can almost hear the music.
Marked to Christian Nonne of Geisshubel. Swiss-born and yet one of Germany's finest porcelain maestros, Herr Nonne operated at the Aelteste Volkstedter porcelain manufactory in Rudolstadt, Germany at the start of the 19th century. Dated to the mid 19th century.
17 cm in height
Excellent antique condition, small chip on one part of hair on the back, but one needs a strong magnifying glass to parse this chip. Colours and gilt are wonderfully preserved, as well as the lyre, a fragile piece which is usually broken in figurines of this age; here, it and its gilt are preserved in their entirety. Please carefully regard all photos.
Item will be sent fully tracked and insured. Please note cost of shipping includes labour, packaging and postage.
