Original 19th-century Chinese temple Buddha in carved wood with fine facial features and delicate robe carving. Traces of blue and red polychromy remain. The circular aperture between the hands once held a candle, confirming its ritual use. The back is also carved and retains paint, showing it was intended for an altar or niche. Decorative, serene, and authentic; minor base nibbling and paint wear only.
