Authentic 19th-century Chinese covered stoneware jar with bird-head lid, made in the southern provinces of Guangdong or Jiangxi, c.1850-1890. Covered in a warm ochre glaze with full natural crackle and iron-oxide brush decoration under the glaze, featuring floral motifs and a seated Daoist figure. The lid is fully original, modelled in zoomorphic form. Firing scars, glaze tension lines, and iron patina consistent with Qing regional kiln production. Original carved wood stand included.
