This antique porcelain figurine group from the 19th century depicts a pair of child gardeners in a charming pastoral scene. The boy stands beside a tree trunk adorned with a birdcage and a nest containing two birds, with an additional bird on the ground. The girl, seated beside him, wears a beautifully detailed floral-patterned dress and holds a delicate garland of molded flowers.
The intricate craftsmanship, lifelike floral elements, and skillfully hand-painted details make this piece a fine example of European porcelain artistry, perfect for collectors. Unfortunately, the specific manufacturer of this figurine remains unidentified. However, it could possibly be attributed to one of the following artists: Joseph Gaspard Robert, a renowned French porcelain artist; Helena Wolfson, a famous German artist-designer known for her work on porcelain replicas; or Edme Samson, one of the most renowned copyists of porcelain during the era.
The composition closely resembles a Meissen model of Johann Carl Schönheit's "Allegory of Spring" from 1782, part of the series The Four Seasons.
