Beautiful antique porcelain figural lamp on a rectangular plinth on four volute feet, layered with a platform upon which a lady stands, bearing a platter of flower heads on a stretched white cloth. The piece explodes with action; the cherub above her shoulder appears in mid flight, and her figure is kinetic with its position. Meanwhile, she stands atop large petals which decorate the pillar of the lamp, which rise like waves from a boiling sea. The colours of the piece are exquisite, both varying in tone and shade and never letting the eye grow bored.
The base for the lamp is a wonderful porcelain group made by the famous German company Conta & Boehme.
