19th-Century Majolica Pottery Figurine, Nude Girl in a Boat

An exquisite 19th-century Majolica pottery sculpture, depicting a nude girl in a boat. The stunning attention to detail and artistic craftsmanship are evident in every feature of this petite figurine, capturing the subtle half-tone colours that bring extraordinary realism to the girl's body and face. Even the finely drawn eyelashes and eyebrows can be fully appreciated under magnification.

The maker remains unclear, with an indistinguishable impression stamp on the bottom. The style bears similarities to Royal Worcester or Minton Majolica, with the pink base colouring leaning more towards Minton, though it may also be of French origin.

A truly rare and unique piece, preserved in impeccable condition, suggesting it has been kept under glass for much of its life. The vibrancy of the colours and the flawless gold plating on the oar are particularly remarkable.
