A compact and well-balanced example with rounded body, fluted neck and neatly shaped pouring spout, produced for refined domestic use rather than large table service.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe body is moulded with cabbage-leaf or heart-shaped relief panels, outlined in reddish-brown enamel with characteristic serrated \"feathered\" edges. This brown enamel feathering is a recognised hand-applied technique of late 18th-century Staffordshire pearlware. The panels are decorated with loosely painted floral sprigs in polychrome enamels, applied freely by hand with visible variation. The rim carries a small relief foliate border picked out in blue and green enamels, uneven in application and consistent with early manual decoration.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe jug is made of pearlware with a pale, slightly bluish-white tone. The base is unmarked, as typical of Staffordshire production.
