An exceptionally large Royal Dux porcelain figure of a graceful maiden holding a wrapped bouquet of roses, dating from the early 20th century. At 79 cm high, this is far beyond ordinary cabinet scale and reads as a true statement sculpture for the interior.
The raised arm, flowing drapery and elongated silhouette place the figure firmly within the Royal Dux Art Nouveau tradition of elegant female subjects inspired by nature, movement and decorative grace.
The modelling is particularly sharp for a figure of this type, with well-defined features, crisp hands and feet, and drapery that still holds its sculptural rhythm. While some Royal Dux figures show softened detail from long-used moulds, the modelling here remains notably crisp, giving the piece a refined and expensive look. The wrapped bouquet of roses adds a romantic note, while the scale gives the sculpture real visual authority.
Large Royal Dux figures in such well-preserved condition are not easy to find, and works of this size continue to attract both collectors and interior designers.
The underside bears the applied pink triangular mark reading "Royal Dux Bohemia" together with the impressed model number 1700.
