During the Regency period they became one of the most popular ornamental porcelain forms for the domestic interior.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe vase is decorated in documented Spode pattern no. 2975 with brightly painted mandarin ducks swimming among lotus flowers and green lily pads. The palette combines emerald green, iron red, yellow and cobalt blue with delicate gilding. Raised pearl-beaded borders frame the rim and foot, while the lower socle is finished with a pink geometric diaper ground.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe underside bears the hand-painted pattern number 2975 in brownish-gilt enamel.
