This rare early Staffordshire porcelain dessert set is attributed to New Hall and dates to around 1820. It showcases Regency-period craftsmanship, made from New Hall's hybrid hard-paste porcelain body, combining strength with a fine, slightly creamy white finish. The set features finely moulded powder blue borders created using a resist decoration technique, allowing crisp white bird and grapevine motifs to emerge against the vibrant blue ground. Each piece is hand-painted with detailed rose vines in bold cobalt blue, soft pinks, and lush green tones. Gilded highlights enhance the moulded forms and floral decoration. The set comprises a lozenge-shaped two-handled serving tray and six matching dessert plates. This is a beautiful and rare example of early 19th-century English porcelain, ideal for collectors, period table settings, or elegant decorative displays.

Historical Background
New Hall, active from the late 18th to early 19th century, became renowned for their innovative hybrid porcelain body and sophisticated decoration techniques. Their finely painted tableware is highly sought after by collectors today for its artistic and technical quality.

Good antique condition overall. The tray has a hairline crack to the base and some wear to the gilding. One plate shows browning and a hairline crack to the back. Two plates show small chips to the base rims. Minor wear to gilding and enamel consistent with age and use. Displays beautifully with vibrant colours and elegant hand-painting.
