A truly rare and museum-quality pair of antique porcelain figurines, made by the Ludwigsburg manufactory during its golden ducal period, around 1758-1793. This stunning Rococo couple includes a musketeer and an elegant lady, both hand-painted with exquisite detail and lifelike expression. The lady wears a delicate floral gown with garnet bodice, puffed sleeves, and a feathered hat, enhanced by lace-like borders and fine enamelling. The musketeer is richly dressed with striped breeches, feathered hat, and sword. Their poses are full of charm, perfectly capturing the grace and drama of 18th-century aristocratic life. Each figure is marked with the Ludwigsburg blue crowned "CC" mark, underglaze, confirming original 18th-century production. Figures of this calibre are rarely found outside museum collections, and almost never as a pair. From a gentleman's collection. A perfect highlight for any refined interior, historical-themed décor or serious antique porcelain collection.
Condition:
Musketeer - three missing fingers (left hand), tip of sword lost, minor chips to the cloak and some enamel loss on hat and sword hilt.
Lady - fingers missing on both hands, a chip to the back of the hat (not visible from the front). No restoration. Overall visually impressive and full of presence.
