A very rare early Dunhill Tallboy petrol lighter produced in England under Cartier Licence, dating to approximately 1933-1935.
This uncommon black lacquer version is considerably scarcer than the usual engine-turned silver plated examples. It also retains an attractive engraved white metal monogram plaque, almost certainly representing the original owner's initials.

CARTIER LICENCE
The mechanism also bears the early "PAT." and "PREFOR" patent markings.
Measurements:
• Height: 6.5 cm
• Width: 1.8 cm
• Depth: 1.2 cm
• Weight: 44 g
Condition is excellent overall with only small losses to the lacquer around the edges from normal age-related wear.
The lighter has not been used for many years. When it was last in regular use it was in working order and produced a good strong flame. Sold as a collectible antique lighter.
