Very Rare Meissen porcelain box with domed lid, decorated in black enamel with the "Ming Dragon" motif - an imperial five-clawed dragon chasing the flaming pearl, among stylised red clouds. This box belongs to the famous "Chinesischer Drache" (Chinese Dragon) series — one of Meissen's most iconic and collectible patterns. The design reflects imperial Chinese symbolism, reinterpreted in the refined aesthetic of early 20th-century Meissen. Marked underneath with Meissen crossed swords in underglaze blue. Red decorator's number to interior. The rare black enamel version, often called "Black Ming Dragon," is highly sought after and far less common than the red or green variants.
