An evocative and rare 18th-century blanc-de-chine porcelain figure, attributed to the Fürstenberg manufactory (Germany), circa 1760. The barefoot drummer boy sits on a damaged drum, with a slack ribbon and dish beside him - symbols of hardship and public street performance. Every sculpted detail, from the bent mallet to the hunched back, reinforces a theme of exhaustion and resilience, quite unlike typical Rococo gaiety.
Although unmarked, this figure closely aligns with Fürstenberg's mid-18th-century output influenced by Cris de Paris prints and theatre. The factory, founded in 1747, was famed for its expressive white-glazed figures. A rare collector's piece with emotional depth and sculptural precision.
