Christian Nonne Volkstedt porcelain allegorical figures representing Spring and Autumn, c.1780-1800. A finely modelled pair from the late 18th century, reflecting the transition from Rococo elegance to early Neoclassical balance. The figures combine harvest symbolism through the cornucopia with renewal and harmony expressed by paired birds.

The warm cream-toned porcelain body, finely hand-painted floral decoration, antique-inspired tunics and restrained gilding are especially attractive. Graceful movement, balanced modelling and finely detailed faces reveal very high quality hand-painted decoration and exceptional artistic control.

Under Christian Nonne, Volkstedt became one of Europe's leading producers of finely modelled porcelain figures, establishing the characteristic Volkstedt figure tradition.

The undersides bear the underglaze blue crossed-forks mark associated with the historic Volkstedt manufactory, together with impressed model numbers.

A rare surviving pair from one of the defining artistic periods of early German porcelain.
