A striking Art Deco sterling silver cigarette case, made by the esteemed Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. and hallmarked for London, 1932. This beautifully designed piece features a high-contrast black enamel front, enhanced with a rectangular marcasite motif at one corner—an elegant detail that adds subtle glamour. The reverse is finished with a refined engine-turned pattern, while silver stripes frame the edges, reflecting the streamlined aesthetic of the Art Deco era.
The interior is fully silver-gilt, a practical feature designed to protect the silver from tarnish caused by cigarette contents. The case opens to reveal a single compartment for cigarettes (or alternatively business cards), with one rubber retaining strap (note: one end is detached).
