The decoration on this jug has decorative elements that are very similar to those used by Carr and Patton in North Shields c. 1840. However, the short spout is perhaps more typical of the Newcastle Pottery.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe other side is inscribed with a short verse, often found on mid 19th century lustre ceramics:\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nFar from home across the sea\u003cbr\u003e\nTo foriegn climes I go,\u003cbr\u003e\nWhile far away O think of me,\u003cbr\u003e\nAnd I'll remember you.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nNote the spelling mistake on the word \"foreign\". A sure sign of authenticity.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nDate to c. 1830.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nExcellent antique condition, no cracks, chips or other damage, remarkable for a jug of this age.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\n13.5 cm in height\u003cbr\u003e\n17 cm in length from handle to spout\u003cbr\u003e\n12.7 cm in diameter across widest point\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nItem will be sent fully tracked and insured.
