A rare early 19th-century Spode tea cup decorated in the vibrant Tobacco Leaf (also known as Cabbage Leaf) pattern. The cup features hand-painted stylised leaves and blossoms in deep blue, red, peach, pink, and green tones, enhanced with fine gilt accents and finished with a clear pearlware glaze.
Marked underneath in underglaze blue "Spode Stone China", with the pattern number 2061 painted in underglaze red, this piece dates to around 1810. The Stone China backstamp was used by Spode from 1805 to 1830 and represents one of the earliest forms of durable earthenware designed to imitate porcelain.
This example is from the golden period of Spode production under Josiah Spode II, who was appointed Potter to the Prince of Wales in 1806. Its vivid decoration and early mark make it a prized find for collectors of Regency ceramics and English tea wares.

Condition
Very good antique condition. The enamel colours remain bright, the pearlware glaze is glossy, and there is no wear to the rim gilding. One small enamel chip is present at the rim (see photos), but the cup is otherwise well-preserved for its age and highly collectible as an early-mark Spode example.
