The girl is shown feeding her lamb with a gilded spoon, while the boy, gently strokes his lamb in a tender gesture. The facial features and hand modeling are delicate and precise. Their garments are richly painted with floral decoration and finished with exquisite porcelain lacework.                                                                                                                                                        The white ruffled elements of their clothing were created using real fabric dipped in porcelain slip and fired - a demanding process known as porcelain lace or Dresden lace. Sitzendorf was especially admired for this technique, and the result here showcases their exceptional craftsmanship.                                                                                                                                              Underside with underglaze blue cross-hatch mark, used by the Sitzendorf factory from around 1887.
