Pair of beautiful antique porcelain figurines, depicting a young pair dressed in springtime clothes frolicking in nature. The lady holds a bouquet of flowers in the hem of her skirt while her male companion rests, leaning on the bough of a tree.

Marked to Christian Nonne of Geisshubel. Swiss-born and yet one of Germany's finest porcelain maestros, Herr Nonne operated at the Aelteste Volkstedter porcelain manufactory in Rudolstadt, Germany at the start of the 19th century. His work was highly regarded by his contemporaries and is still considered to be some of the finest porcelain ever made. Nonne's attention to detail and his ability to capture the delicate nuances of the human form made his work truly exceptional.
Dated to the mid 19th century.
Excellent condition. The lady has a chip on the ribbon on her left side. The gentleman has some losses to fingers on the left hand and part of the branch of the tree, on which he leans. Otherwise excellent condition, excellent preservation of paint and gilt. Please carefully regard all photos.
