A beautifully hand-painted Kyoto-Satsuma koro (incense burner) from the Kotobuki-dō workshop, created during the late Meiji period. The low, wide tripod form has three raised feet and a short neck, designed for burning incense in the home. The decoration features two elegant bijin (ladies) in patterned kimono walking beside pavilions and trees. Raised gilt details, fine black linework and soft enamels highlight every element of the scene. A bold geometric border in gold and iron-red encircles the top. The warm ivory glaze has a natural crackle finish typical of high-quality Kyoto Satsuma ware.
The underside carries a gilded Kotobuki-dō mark, confirming reputable Kyoto origin.

Condition
