Antique signed Kinkozan Kyoto Satsuma bowl, circa 1880. A powerful, luxurious object built around deep cobalt and disciplined gilding: dense gilt foliage on the exterior, with a warm ivory interior showing fine age crackle consistent with period Kyoto Satsuma.
Kinkozan is collected because the workmanship holds up under close viewing. The gold is not merely abundant but controlled, with clean edges, steady line and a balanced pattern that remains sharp and coherent even at very close range.
Marked to the base with a gilt square seal reading 錦光山 (Kinkōzan).
