Antique Derby Porcelain Figural Candlestick Pair - Cherubs with Bocage Columns, S&H Mark c.1867-1870
A charming pair of antique porcelain figural candlesticks made by the esteemed Derby company during the King Street Factory period, attributed to the Stevenson & Hancock / Sampson Hancock era. The "S and H" mark places their production between circa 1867 and 1870.
Each candlestick features a cherub posed elegantly among detailed bocage foliage, set atop scrolling rocaille bases in the Rococo manner. The candle sconces are modelled as open flowers, contributing to the overall sense of playful elegance. The white porcelain body is decorated in soft pastel shades, accented with finely painted details and touches of gilt.

The candlestick with the blue-tunic cherub is in excellent antique condition, with one restored petal and a small hairline crack to the base decoration; surrounding leaves show only minimal loss. The piece with the puce-tunic cherub is in very good antique condition, with one professionally glued petal on the sconce, minor damage to the leaves, and partial damage to the applied pattern on the back handle.
