Antique Bow Soft-Paste Porcelain Figurine - Young Boy in Aristocratic Dress, c. 1765-1770
A charming and richly detailed antique porcelain figurine depicting a young boy in aristocratic attire, reclining upon a leafy green bocage. Dressed in a primrose pink jacket with golden gilt accents, the figure captures the elegance and grace of 18th-century design. His relaxed pose, accompanied by a small cat, evokes pastoral leisure in the Rococo tradition.
Manufactured by the Bow Porcelain Factory—an early and prominent rival to Chelsea—this figurine dates to circa 1765-1770. The glazed base and plinth with raised feet, combined with the deep green bocage, are hallmark features of Bow's later production. The piece bears strong stylistic similarities to Bow's "Shepherd" candlestick line, known for their elaborate bases and naturalistic settings.
Bow was among the first English factories to produce soft-paste porcelain, and their work is now prized for its charm, painterly decoration, and early technical experimentation. This figure reflects Bow's distinctive palette, including soft pastels, bold greens, and finely applied gilding.

Condition
Very good antique condition for its age. The left hand has chipped fingers, and the dog is missing its left ear. There is some damage to the bocage, including broken tree branches.
