This beautifully decorated Japanese porcelain dish features a vibrant polychrome palette and a six-character overglaze mark for Hichozan Shinpo Zo (肥碟山信甫製) on the base. This mark was used by merchant Tashiro Monzaemon of the Mikawachi kilns and dates from the late Edo to early Meiji period (mid-19th century).
The dish is a fine example of Arita Imari ware, possibly Fukagawa, showcasing traditional Japanese craftsmanship and artistry. The central scene depicts a colourful landscape of blooming peony flowers, while the wide rim is detailed with intricate orange scrollwork and accents in gold enamel. The hand-painted design demonstrates a careful balance of detail, colour, and negative space, characteristic of high-quality export porcelain of the time.
